El moldeo por extrusión-soplado es un proceso ampliamente conocido y utilizado para la fabricación de productos plásticos (más comúnmente HDPE: polietileno de alta densidad), desde volúmenes pequeños de 100 ml hasta productos grandes de 1000 litros y más. Esta técnica consiste en la extrusión de un termoplástico hueco ablandado, que luego se moldea por soplado y se enfría en un molde hasta que solidifica y forma el producto plástico final.
