La resina de poliéster insaturado es un polímero de condensación formado por la reacción de polioles y ácidos dibásicos saturados/insaturados a 190-220 ℃ hasta alcanzar el índice de acidez o la viscosidad esperados. Después del procedimiento de reacción, la adición de cierta cantidad de monómero de estireno formó una resina de poliéster insaturada. Posee buenas propiedades mecánicas y eléctricas, resistencia a la corrosión. El curado puede ocurrir a temperatura ambiente sin ningún equipo de calentamiento y facilita la fabricación de objetos grandes.
