Both the cartridge body and the internal ink bag are made from solvent-resistant materials, preventing swelling, deformation or leakage after filling.

Use Your Own Formulation

Ink manufacturers and equipment suppliers can fill the cartridge directly with their own solvent formulation, with no need to hand the recipe over to a third-party filling contractor. This protects your technical know-how, keeps quality under your control, and lets you build a consumables line under your own brand.

Shipped with a Brand-New Printhead

Every empty cartridge is manufactured new — printhead and body alike — never used, never recovered and washed out. Compared with the cleaned second-hand shells resold on the market, a fully new structure avoids residual ink contamination and lowers the risk of nozzle clogging and short circuits.

Suitable Ink Types

This product is an unfilled empty cartridge. Print quality, adhesion and drying speed depend on the ink formulation you fill it with; the cartridge body is engineered specifically for solvent-based inks.

Please note: solvent empty cartridges are not recommended for water-based, UV-curable or other non-solvent inks. Differences in carrier characteristics may cause internal degradation or unstable jetting. For water-based applications, please contact UniPlus customer service for the corresponding water-based empty cartridge specification. When introducing a new formulation for the first time, we recommend validating jetting performance and compatibility on a small quantity of cartridges before moving to production filling.

Compatibility Check

The form factor and electrical interface of the half-inch TIJ 2.5 empty cartridge are compatible with most non-encrypted half-inch coding systems on the market, and suit a wide range of handheld and inline TIJ coders.

Does the empty cartridge come with ink inside? ＋

No, it does not. Empty cartridges ship unfilled and are filled by the customer.
If you need a finished product ready to run on the line, we suggest the pre-filled UP45 solvent-based ink cartridge instead. Empty cartridges are intended mainly for ink manufacturers and equipment suppliers with their own formulations or with confidentiality requirements.

What usually causes broken lines or missing dots after filling? ＋

The most common causes are: air bubbles introduced during filling that were never purged; ink viscosity or surface tension outside the TIJ working range; or residual ink droplets left on the nozzle plate.
We suggest working through them in order: let the cartridge stand to release trapped air and test print again, confirm the formulation meets thermal inkjet requirements, and wipe the printhead gently with a lint-free cloth.

How are the minimum order quantity and lead time arranged? ＋

Empty cartridges are a regularly stocked production item, and long-term contract customers can also arrange staged deliveries and safety stock. The actual MOQ and lead time vary with quantity, packaging format and whether custom labelling is required.
