The 1-inch printhead covers a 25.4 mm height in one pass, so outer-case markings and large-character content no longer need two half-inch cartridges stacked one above the other. That saves the setup time spent aligning the seam and calibrating heights, and avoids barcodes becoming unreadable because of misalignment at the join.

60 ml Capacity for Ink-Hungry Large-Area Printing

Large characters, solid graphics and logos consume noticeably more ink than ordinary small-character marking. A 60 ml capacity extends continuous running time and reduces how often the line has to stop mid-production for a cartridge change.

The 1-inch empty cartridge uses the same solvent-resistant body construction, resisting swelling and leakage after filling, so you can take your own formulation straight into volume supply.

 

 

Suitable Ink Types and Wide-Format Applications

This product is a 1-inch empty cartridge supplied without ink; actual print performance is determined by the formulation the customer fills it with.

Please note: the instantaneous ink delivery of a 1-inch printhead is higher than that of a half-inch head. Even where a formulation has already been validated at half-inch, we recommend re-confirming viscosity, ink feed responsiveness and continuous-jetting stability when migrating to 1-inch. This empty cartridge is not recommended for water-based, UV-curable or non-solvent inks; please contact UniPlus customer service for those requirements.

 

Choosing Between Half-Inch and 1-Inch Solvent Empty Cartridges

With its greater print height and fill capacity, the 1-inch empty cartridge suits large-character and outer-case applications. If your marking content is mainly small-character dates and batch numbers, or your existing equipment only supports half-inch printheads, the half-inch empty cartridge is the better fit.

Compatibility Check

If your current equipment is half-inch, adopting a 1-inch empty cartridge requires confirming that the printhead mount, control board and clamping fixture will support it. We suggest providing your equipment model and current consumable details when you get in touch so we can help assess feasibility.

 

 

Storage and precautions:

  • Empty cartridges should be kept away from direct sunlight and dusty environments
  • When a filled cartridge is temporarily out of use, refit the protective clip to keep the printhead covered
  • If a filled cartridge is not going into immediate use, store it upright and run a test print periodically to prevent the printhead from clogging
  • Wear gloves and work in a well-ventilated area to avoid solvent ink contact with skin and eyes
  • Ink is not edible. Keep out of reach of children. In case of contact, rinse promptly with clean water and seek medical attention if you feel unwell

  Should I choose the half-inch or the 1-inch empty cartridge? ＋  
Start with the equipment, then look at the marking content. If your equipment only supports half-inch printheads, half-inch is the only option. If it does support 1-inch cartridges, decide by what you are printing: large characters, logos and outer-case coding call for 1-inch, while small-character dates and batch numbers are better served by half-inch.

  Can a formulation already used at half-inch be filled directly into a 1-inch empty cartridge? ＋  
We still recommend confirming actual print performance after filling the 1-inch cartridge. Ink supply conditions and jetting load differ between cartridge sizes, so even with the same formulation, continuous-jetting stability may not match what you see at half-inch. Before running high-volume production, fill a small quantity for print testing and use those results to judge whether the formulation or the filling conditions need further adjustment.

The 1-inch cartridge suits applications needing a greater print height — multi-line text, large-format dates and batch codes, barcodes, QR codes, logos and other wide-format variable data printing.
