Moulding Expo 2015 – Space is Running Out, Anticipation is Rising

It has been definite since last April: Moulding Expo will celebrate its première from 5th to 8th May. This new trade fair for tool, pattern and mould making, which will be held every two years in future in Stuttgart, will feature the full range of high technology which the industry has to offer - from dies for injection moulding and casting, and stamping and forming tools through to the latest developments in model making and prototype construction or additive manufacturing processes. In Stuttgart visitors can also look forward to technology highlights from all renowned suppliers and service providers in this branch of industry.

Trade fairs are more important than ever – particularly for the tool, pattern and mould making industry 

For the German economy, trade fairs are of great importance. Particularly for many "hidden champions" of the tool, pattern and mould making industry. For these companies, which are often small to medium in size, who have a great deal of knowledge but seldom have a marketing position in the company or have an executive who deals with acquisitions himself/herself, trade fairs are an important interface to the outside world: to reach potential new customers or even those many miles away.

On the other side, the pace of technological development at all levels is not letting up. For this reason, trade fairs are an essential instrument for every tool, pattern and mould maker to acquire information about the latest technologies in one location in a targeted-orientated and effective way. Aside from the expertise of the companies, the quality of the supplied products and services – from tool machines to standardised system components and materials through to software for production and organisation – is also decisive for the quality of the manufactured tools, moulds or patterns.

"The figures show that Moulding Expo is developing in the right place at the right time", says Ulrich Kromer von Baerle. "The companies have put their trust in us and, in doing so, responded the to question as to whether the market actually needs another trade fair for tool, pattern and mould making. We are now focusing on planning an ideal event for exhibitors and visitors alike. We are working hard to make sure that Moulding Expo also becomes the industry trade fair that was actually planned", the President of Messe Stuttgart explains further.

The trade fair environment in the tool, pattern and mould making industry is changing and, with its modern trade fair and congress centre, which was occupied in 2007, Stuttgart is ready to offer it an adequate "home". The première in May 2015 will be a success; this is confirmed by the exceptionally positive number of exhibitor registrations. Over 20 per cent of companies showing their innovations in Stuttgart in May come from abroad. The largest share among these 26 nations is filled by Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, France and the USA.

At present, the three allocated exhibition halls, 4, 6 and 8, are already booked up with more than 550 exhibitors, and space is running out. By the start of May, the available floor area - totalling 31,500 square metres - is expected to be completely filled. "And what I am particularly pleased about", says Kromer von Baerle, "is that about a third of all registrations come from the core area of industry, i.e. toolmakers or pattern and mould makers."
